(hereinafter referred to as either, “Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information you may provide Us on this website (the “Site”). We believe it is important for you to know how we treat your personal information. We updated this Privacy Policy effective as of January 1, 2015. The terms of this Privacy Policy apply to all users of this Site. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, you should immediately cease the use of this Site.

1. What information does Company collect about me on this Site?

In order for us to consider your resume or application for employment, you must register on the Site.  Once you register on the Site, Company, and all of its service providers, including TALEO, will collect personally identifiable information that you may voluntarily provide on online forms, which may include: user registration, employment application or resume submission, contact requests, surveys, and other online activities. The personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) collected on this Site can include some or all of the following: your name, address, telephone number, e-mail addresses, and any other information you may voluntarily provide as part of the application process provided through this Site. You will have the choice whether or not to disclose such Personal Information in the above activities; however, some parts of the Site and some services may be more difficult or impossible to use if you choose not to disclose Personal Information.

In addition to the Personal Information identified above, Our web servers, along with our service providers’ web servers, automatically identify computers by their IP addresses. Company and its service providers may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. To emphasize, IP addresses are not linked to Personal Information. Further, Our Site may use technologies such as “cookies” to provide visitors with tailored information upon each visit. Cookies are a common part of many commercial websites that allow small text files to be sent by a website, accepted by a web browser and then placed on your hard drive as recognition for repeat visits to the Site. Every time you visit Our Site, Our servers, through cookies, pixels and/or GIF files, collect basic technical information such as your domain name, the address of the last URL visited prior to clicking through to the Site, and your browser and operating system. You do not need to enable cookies to visit Our Site; however, some parts of the Site and some services may be more difficult or impossible to use if cookies are disabled. To emphasize, cookies are not linked to any Personal Information while on this Site.

2. What does Company do with the information collected?

Company and its service providers may use your Personal Information for any of the following purposes: (1)  to process any employment applications and/or resumes; (2) to understand the use of the Site and make improvements; (3) to register visitors for online activities such as: surveys, employment applications, comment forms, or any other online interactive activities; (4) to respond to specific requests from visitors;  (5) to protect the security or integrity of the Site if necessary; (6) to comply with applicable law or legal process. 
3. With whom does Company share the information?

When registering on this Site, You give consent for Your Personal Information to be shared only with COMPANY, its subsidiaries and affiliates (and any other current or future subsidiaries or affiliates) and all service providers, including TALEO, who have a need to know the information for the purposes of the proper and efficient operation of this Site.  In some instances, this may require that Your Personal Information be transferred to, processed, and stored on central servers in the United States or sent to individuals in the United States.  The laws regarding data privacy in the USA and other countries outside the European Economic Area may provide less adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of individuals than do the laws which apply within the EEA.  However, Your Personal Information will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy no matter where it is transferred. 

This Privacy Policy applies solely to those seeking potential employment with Company.  If you have provided, or choose to provide your Personal Information to other members of COMPANY through other websites or other means, then this Privacy Policies will not apply.

Company will not sell, rent, loan, transfer, or otherwise disclose any Personal Information to third parties except as set forth in this statement. Company may share Personal Information with third parties under the following circumstances:

(i) in connection with a court order, subpoena, government investigation, or when otherwise legally required;
(ii) in the event of a corporate sale, merger, acquisition, or similar or contemplated event;
(iii) working with third party service providers, including TALEO, to support the Site’s technical operation ; or
(iv) in connection with processing a submitted resume and/or employment application. 

In the case of processing a submitted resume and/or employment application, Company and its affiliates may disclose your Personal Information to TALEO and any other third party necessary to further process your resume and/or employment application.  Further, Company may disclose your Personal Information to its franchisees and/or licensees for their consideration and response for any positions within their market.   
When Your Personal Information is transferred to service providers, it is done under a contract which requires the companies to use the shared information only for the limited purposes for which it is provided to them in providing services to Company, not to transfer the information to another party, and to agree to hold the information securely and confidentially.

In addition, circumstances where your registration information may be disclosed include:

  • When you have consented
  • Within the COMPANY family of companies in order to provide human resource administration, general business organization and governance purposes
  • To comply with applicable laws
  • To third parties as required by law, court order, subpoena or other discovery request
  • To cooperate with government authorities in a criminal investigation or to detect, investigate or prevent crime  or injury to persons or property
  • To defend your legal rights or the rights of other users of the Site, COMPANY or its service providers, or to obtain legal advice on behalf of COMPANY or its service providers
  • In addition to adhering to this Policy, and other policies and procedures regarding the privacy of personal information that COMPANY has in place, when Your Personal Information is transferred from the EEA, to Company in third countries, we require the recipient entity to enter into a contract regarding the use and processing of that information which incorporates certain standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission of the European Union. 

4. How do I correct or update my Personal Information?

You control the accuracy of your Personal Information. You may update your Personal Information by going to http://www.edelman.com/careers-and-culture/jobs/ selecting your country, signing into Taleo, and clicking on profile under your name. You are able to withdraw your application at any point by selecting your job page and clicking withdraw

5. How does Company protect the security of my Personal Information?

 Company uses and/or requires service providers to use administrative, technical, physical and organizational security measures (such as encryption and access controls) which are designed to protect all Personal Information. We safeguard information according to established security standards, and periodically assess our methods of protecting information. 

6. What is the effective date of Company's Privacy Policy and how will Company notify me of changes to its Privacy Policy?

This Privacy Policy was last updated on January 1, 2015. Company will post any changes on the Site’s Homepage, so visitors are always aware of any changes to what information We collect, how We use it, and under what circumstances We disclose it.
